USING TELNET
Telnet is a virtual terminal
protocol that allows you to make connections to remote devices, gather
information, and run programs.
As we know that CDP can’t provide
the information about the devices that aren’t directly connected to your
router. But we can use telnet command
to log on to remote devices and then used CDP
to gather information about their neighbours.

The asterisk next to connection 2 indicates that session2
was your last session. You can enter the last session by pressing Enter twice.
You can also enter any connection by typing the connection number and then
pressing Enter.

RESOLVING HOSTNAMES
To use a hostname rather than and IP address to connect to a
remote device, the device that you are using to make the connection must be
able to translate the hostname to an IP address.
BUILDING A HOST TABLE
Corp#config t

Corp(config)#ip host ap 112.2.1.1
We can check the host table by using the command show hosts
