The term Globalization can imply different meaning for different people across the globe. Some focus on the economic aspect, others on political and many on technological aspects. Yet the most important aspect for the sociologists and anthropologists is cultural aspects of this phenomenon and how globalization has affected different aspects of their culture. Globalization has also affected Pakistani culture greatly. Enlist any five ways/areas in which globalization has affected Pakistani culture.
SOLUTION:
CULTURE AND CHANGE Pakistan is currently an example of a hybrid society as a result of globalization, trying to find a balance between Islamization and modernization. Globalization has greatly changed Pakistan's clothing, food, cultural values, purchasing power and socio-economic system. As a result of globalization, fast food culture is expanding in Pakistan. International food chains can be conveniently located on street corners, airports, malls, shopping centers, schools, and gas stations. Pakistani people like to eat intercontinental and Chinese food.
Five ways/areas in which globalization has affected Pakistani culture.
- One of the main consequences of globalization is that it opens up businesses to new markets in which they can sell goods and labour, raw materials and components.
- Increase in transportation of goods.
- Cultural globalization is affecting men's and women's clothing.
- Wearing t-shirts, glasses, tall shoes and jackets is not a part of Pakistani culture.
- People are becoming more conscious about their dressing style and fashion.
- Women have become more brand conscious.
- There is an increasing trend among women to wear western clothes like jeans and shirts
